Parsley for garnish. 

This is an expression my mum used to use to describe my food preparation and meal creation. I could never resist making plates pretty and sprinkling parsley on everything! It elevated simple food to restaurant presentation, and such is your power to elevate your appearance.

Is this how your mornings go? So, after you’ve done your version of your Miraculous Morning routine, you slip into an outfit you pulled together effortlessly the night before. You dress mindfully, savouring how much the colours and textures energise you. The outfit is a mix and match of your signature style, curated for your physique, body tones and personality, and your core message, energy, and audience. You feel uplifted, elated and sparky as you glance in the mirror. You feel bloody gorgeous, just as you are.

And then you woke up and realised it was Monday, you’re late, and you have five minutes to get it together.

The big C had undoubtedly had a knock-on effect on our dressing habits. Confinement meant that we adapted our daily dressing style to be ultra-casual and comfortable – possibly to the detriment of our image and morale. And it hasn’t reverted back to normal!

We women (bar some exceptions) love the ritual of dressing and making themselves pretty to present themselves to the world. The pandemic and its confinement caused us to suspend that pleasure and even become sloppy about our presentation.

Our image, appearance, and feelings are vital to keeping our mindset and energy aligned.

Can we bring back the art of adornment and care and pride in our appearance, please?

ADORN TO ATTRACT

 If you are in the business of attraction, enrollment and service (and who isn’t?), your style counts!

Let’s face it: it’s a vast eternal sea out there on the coaching planet. And it sometimes feels like your tribe is on a far distant shore, and you are bobbing about on the waves, trying to keep your boat steering towards that shore.

And if you’re as visible as that crystal with the sun slanting through it, the right people will get your message immediately.

They will know you because your message is as dazzling as you are.

And that’s what they see first. Even before you open your pretty little mouth, even before they read a word of your heart-crafted web copy, they see you. And feel you.

Your visual communication must be coherent with your message (and mission!), or people will instantly feel a disconnect. It happens everywhere!

Whether live or on Zoom, you still have just three seconds to make an impression.

Even before you talk about your beautiful vision,

the person before you has already decided whether they will like you or not.

Three. Seconds.

To conquer any doubts. To conquer the moment. To conquer an opportunity. Million buck ones.

In fact, our brains do the judging – quite naturally. It’s a biological process over which we have no control. We can use that neurological instinct to our advantage by ensuring that we communicate with the person in front of us through visual and verbal communication.

You see, your image is like a thumbprint. A one in 60 billion statement of who you are and what you stand for. You need to have success pouring out of every pore. That does not mean dressing head to toe in designer apparel but showing up as your highest future self today!

It has already been proven that people buy not what you are selling, maybe not the outcome. They want a slice of you, what you represent. Who you are. They want to buy your energy and your verbal and visual communication, but be aligned to be able to do that!

A magnetic Image attracts. That’s a fundamental Law Of Attraction principle! 

So if you think that because you can’t wear your slick suits, dresses for events, boardroom chic or a favourite signature outfit because you’re online, think again. 

ADORN TO RAISE YOUR VIBE

The point here is that you are still dressing to get into a high vibe.

You are dressing to feel pretty, which helps your high vibe, confidence and selling power.

 You still interact with people on sales calls, Zoom events, masterminds, and video guest spots. 

It is still essential to keep up the art of Aligned Style High Vibe dressing, even if it’s only from the waist upwards!

Colours are energy. Clothes are breath for soul expression. Colours and energy contribute to your brand persona. 

Using colour and deliberate dressing is a ritual – a rehearsal for success.

Throughout all cultures in history, adornment is the art of venerating our human beauty.

Light and colour have a beneficial direct effect on our electromagnetic frequency, and adornment is one way you can use that natural process in the shortest amount of time…the time it takes to tune into feeling like you need some self-love, and you wrap your a green scarf around your shoulders. 

ADORN FOR SHEER JOY OF BEING A GODDESS

“Jewellery is boring,” said no woman – ever.

But, in these days of athleisure blandness and out-of-a-mould style, self-adornment is often treated as an afterthought – something we do when we go to dinner. Throwing on a pair of earrings feels indulgent, let alone coordinating some beads and bracelets. 

Yet even the simplest home-working outfit is transformed into a chic statement to yourself and the world with a bit of care.

There is a fab, fun and easy way to show up in public, always polished, with accessories. Accessories are a magnificent opportunity to make an image and brand statement right there as you present on the screen. Because whether on Zoom or live, masterminding or co-hosting video, you are always ‘on stage, and you are always selling!

It’s time to Accesso-RISE!

It’s time to re-think your whole ‘top half outfit’ for this new world market open of virtual connection where half of us is hidden from view.

Famous fashion designer Oscar de la Renta said: “A woman makes an outfit her own with accessories”. The importance of accessories cannot be better summed up than this. It’s also true for men! Accessories enhance the effect of the clothes you wear – they can even determine your signature style on their own. Oscar was spot on!

Jewellery, scarves, hats, brooches, even hair accessories, head wraps and glasses – there are infinite ways to use them and abuse them. 

Between your makeup and the accessories you love, you can still look and feel like a million dollars as you make them! It’s time to get imaginative with your accessories and create your polished signature look along with your post-lockdown comfies.

Aren’t you curious when you meet someone online for the first time how they will show up?

Well, how they do show up speaks volumes! So make them sit up in surprise and delight and want to work with you.

Capture their attention with your attention to detail. 

First of all, I want to remind you of the most prominent accessory of all – your background.

Take a hard look at the area behind you rather than disguising it with some crummy faux ocean view. People will be looking at that as much as they are looking at you.

Untidy shelves or dark corners behind you are such a turn-off for your viewers. The screen is your stage, so accessorise it! Wall hangings, an attractive, plain curtain behind you, and a pretty room divider screen are all great ways to enhance your image and brand.

Use some sparkle and bling to give whatever you’re wearing a luxurious feel. The simplest garments get a lift with some bling.

And if bling is not your thing, play with costume jewellery – my personal favourite. Let’s break the usual style rules, such as either necklaces or earrings and re-invent adornment! I would bet a goodly sum that somewhere you have a box of jewellery you haven’t worn for ages. Ditto for other accessories, like scarves. 

Be bold enough to wear a hat or headdress. Nothing tops a topper! I, Jenni P, have my signature bandanas, which hide any root re-growth.

Let’s raise the Goddess in every part of your on-screen life!

Make sure you have daylight or spotlights directly on your face.

Create a backdrop that you are proud of and that people comment on because it’s attractive! Make a stage for yourself to shine! I have magnificent butterfly curtains, which I found online! But everyone comments on them as they seem to be part of me! They are! A symbol of transformation, people immediately connect my topic and vibe with transformation! And since the butterfly is so pretty, all I have to do is coordinate my outfit with some easy adornment. 

Your hands are on view, so keep them manicured and nail-polished, and wear a couple of bracelets in your style. Keep your hair neat. I tie my hair up in a bun and a scarf, even on bad hair days. It takes five minutes to put some makeup on. It can be natural makeup, but show up polished and as if you love yourself!

Adorn, adorn, adorn! Whatever your style and mood, make an effort to show up, if not as a Goddess, then professionally, in honour of who you are presenting to or about to meet. Anything shiny works! Gold, silver, sequins, satin, luxury fabrics, lace – anything about your connection to your feminine nature. This is a small thing to do, but energetically, the Universe reads it and responds accordingly!

For me, you can never have too much parsley on anything.

And in these days of bland, mediocre and forgettable, adorning is an art to bring back to the sobering world of business and marketing. On with the bling!
